During summer the thermal wind reaches easily 16-20 knots. The thermal wind blows from SW and it is quite frequent and constant. Frontal winds can be very strong (over 30 knots) due to the structure of the Sicilian Channel. NW (Maestrale) is a no-go, get your car and drive to West Sicily (Stagnone or Puzziteddu), other directions are ok. Frontal winds are also quite frequent, especially during spring (mainly S winds) and fall (mainly N winds). Wind usually blows from N, SW, WSW, W, WNW, NW and NNW on the spot. Beach and Tide Conditions
Kitesurfing conditions do not depend on Tide on this spot. Sicily / Due Rocche, Italy is a Chop, Small waves and Medium waves spot. The launching/landing area is reported to be of Medium size. Sandy beach, no particular hazards, packed during weekends in July and August, basically free during working weeks. There is no kite beach, but kites are tolerated on the left side of the beach front, in the direction of the two big rocks in the water at the far left end of the beach.

Careful about the other beach users, especially in April, May, June, July, August, September and October . When you are on water, be careful of Swimmers . There are riding zones on the spot, be sure you respect them.
